Standing Rigging's replacement

The standing rigging is the structural support system of your mast: shrouds, cap shrouds, diagonals, forestay, backstay…
Constantly under tension, it ages over time, stretches, and can become a major point of failure if not replaced in due time.
Custom Fabrication in Our Workshop
At Sailhero, we manufacture new standing rigging in-house, tailored to your sailboat, sailing program, in line with the current safety standards, using top-quality components:
· Stainless steel cables (monotoron helical strands laid up 1x19, compact, ROD, or textile) with diameters and lengths adapted to your boat
· Mechanical or swaged terminals depending on your configuration
· Accessories and fittings sourced from trusted partners (Sparcraft, Selden, VMG Soromap, Z Spars, Blue Wave, etc.)
· Carefully crafted and inspected before delivery

When Should You Replace Your Standing Rigging?
Even if it appears visually sound, rigging can show internal fatigue or hidden structural weaknesses. Replacement is recommended in the following situations:
· Every 10 years
· After 22,000 miles sailed (approx. a circumnavigation)
· Before a transatlantic or major voyage
· When purchasing a used boat with no reliable maintenance history
· If you observe corrosion, buckling, broken strands, or cracked terminals
We customize each build based on:
· The specifications of your yacht (length, mast height, rig type)
· Your sailing program (cruising, racing, offshore, catamaran…)
· Insurance or regulatory requirements (such as French Division 240)
Our technicians can also work on board to:
· Take precise measurements
· Remove and reinstall the standing rigging
· Perform static tuning and tension adjustments after sea trials
